8 Times Video Game Developers Publicly Insulted Their Players

6. ...And Tells A Games Journalist That He Sucks At His Job

Jaffe was on an absolute rampage before Twisted Metal came out, and everyday fans weren't the only people he had in his crosshairs: he also took shots at games journalists too.

Back in 2012, online passes were all the rage, serving as a way for publishers to make some money on used game sales. While Jaffe didn't want an online pass for Twisted Metal, he had no say in the matter, and Sony lumped the game with one.

In response to this news, GameTaffy published an article called "David Jaffe Sold Out" which criticised the man in question for failing to fight back against Sony's decision. Jaffe wasn't pleased with many of the assumptions that the article made, and responded in typical Jaffe fashion - with a lot of insults:

"Love the new tabloid , poorly reported 'article' accusing me of being a sell out cuz TM has an online pass. If the wannabe journalist had actually done their job they would have learned 1) its not my game to decide if it has an online pass - we don't own Twisted Metal and we did not fund the game and 2 - I've publicly been in favor of many online passes INCLUDING one for TM2 PS3 if we ever make a sequel - I just did not want 1 for THIS game cause we need to revels [sic] franchise and every person playing - even if we make no cash - helps for when we launch a sequel which - again - I WOULD support an online pass for. F***ing stupid, poorly educated write - dude should be ashamed of himself for sucking so much at his job."

The article wasn't trying to be mean-spirited so Jaffe did go a little overboard here, but it's understandable that he'd be frustrated at being blamed for something that wasn't his choice.
