8 Times Video Games Directly Insulted Other Games
7. Hideo Kojima Erases His Past - MGS V: Ground Zeroes
Hideo Kojima is without a doubt one of the gaming industry's most colourful characters.
Kojima's work on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was his last game made with long-time publishing partner Konami, but it was his work on the MGS V: Ground Zeroes that saw the addition of an Easter egg in which he made his feelings, and his intended departure from Konami, all too clear.
During the Deja Vu mission area, there are stencils for the logos of all of the Metal Gear games, all of which the player is tasked with removing. There is even an additional nod to Kojima's work on the series when erasing the logo for Metal Gear Acid 2, which Kojima did not direct, with character Kaz telling you: "Looks like that's nothing special."
Erasing the logos of Kojima's work with Konami may have seemed bizarre before the now-famous split, but looking back, it's hard to see it as anything other than a prophetic indication of the growing hostility between the developer and publisher.
