6. Poltergeist - Pokémon: Sword & Shield

With the current roster of Pokémon swelling to such an extent that our comfy shorts are no longer easy to wear through being weighed down by the critters, it's easy to imagine that Game Freak will soon run short on ideas and algorithmically churn out monsters without care or thought.

However, we must always remember that behind even the lowliest poke-lifeforms are real people with a passion for making monsters, and the community itself isn't short of ideas, providing original concepts left right, and center, including a post on 4chans Pokémon board that called for a ghost pokémon that inhabited a teapot called Polteageist which actually ended up appearing, name and all, in Pokémon: Sword and Shield.

Yet it turned out that instead of a company maliciously straight up stealing a Pokémon idea and passing it off as their own, the original commenter may actually be James Turner who, years after the post managed to land a job at Game Freak and was finally allowed to make their dream pokemon a reality.

A personalized pocket fighter, who could ask for more!?
