5. The Entire Graphics Engine - Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night

While the games industry has its fair share of boogeymen and sinister creeps, there is only one who could claim the title of "Vampire Lord" and that's Koji Igarashi thanks to his tireless work on the Castlevania series.

Under his guidance as the lead producer, the series went from strength to strength and his work on the outstanding Symphony Of The Night cannot be understated. Therefore when it was announced he was parting ways with Konami to start up a new development studio, the news was met with a mix of sadness and excited anticipation.

Emotions shifted considerably when it was announced that the first title of ArtPlay studios would be titled Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night and that it would be a spiritual successor to Symphony Of The Night, to the point that the games Kickstarter received eleven times the money it was asking for.

With all this money being poured into the project, fan expectations were through the roof, and yet the life felt absolutely sucked from the veins of supporters when the first gameplay trailers emerged. To be honest, the game never looked terrible, but there was a distinct lack of polish which was highlighted by backers.

And it turns out that Igarashi was listening. Intently.

Releasing a few months after the backlash, The Dark Lord Of Developers stepped out of the shadows with an developers update video and drew attention to the "poop" graphics and unleashed a brand new graphical overhaul which
