8 Tiny Issues That RUINED Blockbuster Video Game Launches

5. You Had To Queue To Launch The Game - The Division

As a result of what might be the greatest oversight in video game history, The Division was brought to a stand-still (literally) on launch day because the devs completely messed up how players activated the opening mission. The blockbuster was one of the first of its kind, an attempt to blend MMO-style interactivity with the depth and gameplay style of a regular third-person shooter - an ambitious feat which, for the most part, the devs absolutely pulled off.

What they didn't nail, though, was figuring out how to fit a bunch of players into a room and let them start the tutorial mission. When it launched, players could only talk to the first quest giver one at a time, which led to a bunch of avatars stood around with nothing to do. With so many people buying the game, there were hundreds of people attempting to access this opening mission in each server, and they had to do it in single-file.

Taking a page out the British book of etiquette, players then decided to form an orderly queue and wait their turn to talk to the NPC, which, in fairness, probably shows that humans aren't entirely terrible.
