8 ULTRA Rare Video Game Items You’ll Never Own
3. AWP's Dragon Lore Souvenir Skin - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Okay, for this entry it's not that the item was discontinued or only offered as part of a one-off promotional campaign. Oh, no.
The reason you'll never own this specific variant of the Dragon Lore skin for CS:GO's AWP sniper rifle, is because it just happens to be valued at over sixty thousand dollars. At least, that's how much the skin was sold for in 2018.
Why? Because to Counter-Strike fans, especially in North America, this is hallowed ground. Digitally signed by eSports legend Tyler 'Skadoodle' Latham just after his team Cloud9 won the Boston CS: GO Major, it was the first time an American team had taken home the gold, leaving all this energy to be channeled directly into the CS:GO marketplace.
Skadoodle's signature at this time was valuable regardless, but the Dragon Lore base graphic was also super rare. CS: GO also has a randomiser for how "weathered" a skin can be too, which this one came up as "Factory New".
Combined, it resulted in a one-of-a-kind skin that would've been sought after no matter what, imbued with the unique characteristic of having a player sign it after playing the game of their eSports career.
If you can save up over $60k and convince the seller to part with the skin, then it's all yours, but I'm gonna wager that's never happening.
