8 Upcoming Video Games That Have Already Made Crippling Mistakes
5. Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite's Tiny Roster
While the latest Marvel Vs. Capcom's alleged roster of 27 characters is on par with similar games like Injustice 2, it's actually a huge step back for a franchise that used to boast over 50 playable fighters.
When two worlds collide like this - that are home to hundreds of iconic characters - you want to see each universe represented properly. But with only a little more than a dozen allowed from each group there's no way you that you can do each brand justice. The decision to limit the roster will no doubt have something to do with the return to a two-on-two brawling system, but it's little consolation when players might lose near enough half of the characters they've come to expect.
Likewise, the choices on the Marvel side seem to be too influenced by the movies, focusing on popular superheroes from recent and upcoming entries in the MCU. It would have been fine with a larger roster, but it's meant that popular and obscure characters alike have been shunted in favour of promotional tie-ins.
