8 Utterly PATHETIC Video Game Weapons (We Can't Stop Using)

7. Nail Bat - Final Fantasy VII

In the original version of Final Fantasy VII, the Nail Bat was an unapologetic joke weapon players could find in the Temple of Ancients.

Now to be fair, the bat actually has impressively high attack stats and so will put a pretty decent dent in many enemies - as a bat adorned with nails typically should.

But this comes with a major trade-off - it doesn’t have any Materia slots, meaning you can only use it for physical attacks, severely limiting your abilities in battle.

As much of a brutal, offputting drawback as that might seem, wailing away on enemies like you’re Negan from The Walking Dead is just too damn badass not to do.

Granted, you’ll want to pick and choose your battles with the bat carefully, because in trickier fights it’ll most often result in you getting thoroughly bodied.

Though Final Fantasy VII Remake made many welcome improvements upon the original, the Nail Bat was controversially altered to let players upgrade it with Materia slots. It’s just not the same.
