8 Valid Concerns About 2019's Remaining Video Games
6. Dead On Arrival With A Misguided Approach - Gears 5
Hey, Microsoft? Just do a Gears game with Marcus, Cole and Baird as old dudes reuniting, like they are across the back half of Gears 4.
One of the best moments in Gears of War history comes from Marcus Fenix losing his mind at how much his home-grown tomato patch is being flattened during a Locust outbreak, and thanks to The Expendables proving there's a market for older action heroes being dragged back into the fray, clearly this would be the way to go.
Still, it must be said that The Coalition did great work with Kat in Gears 4, and letting her head up a game as the descendant of someone associated with Queen Myrrha will finally provide answers to questions many fans have had for over a decade.
The writing's on the wall for the new cast, though. Whilst Kat hasn't been given the protagonist spotlight yet, JD Fenix is being overhauled, shaving his hair off and making him more "gritty" in an attempt to tap back into the series' older appeal.
I doubt anyone can shake the feeling that they'd really rather be playing as the original squad, with these newer characters tagging along instead.
