8 Valid Concerns About 2019's Remaining Video Games
5. A Completely Forgettable Protagonist - Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
It is straight-up weird that "the next Star Wars game" is about as hyped as the PS4 getting a firmware update.
Perhaps a comment on where the IP is in the cultural conversation following The Last Jedi, I instead posit that casting Cameron Monaghan (of Shameless and Gotham fame) has notably contributed to a complete lack of buzz.
Though his character Cal Kestis will play an important part in exploring the territory between Episode III and IV, Monaghan is sadly, not remotely memorable. It's a creative casting decision made all the more annoying by comments from the devs acknowledging they considered an alien protagonist, but thought it would be too "alienating" to the player.
As millions of Star Wars fans can attest though, especially if they've played the Knights of the Old Republic games, playing as aliens in this lore automatically creates a signature identifying element that could've helped marketing tenfold.
Instead, we've got another bland protagonist who granted, isn't full-blown 'Space Marine 101', but feels so intensely meh, it's kinda buried the appeal of the game.
