8 Video Game Characters Who Desperately Need Therapy

6. Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid

As Otacon famously said of his pal Solid Snake at the end of Metal Gear Solid 4, he had a hard life.

What hope can you possibly have to be a well-adjusted human being when you were bred only to help create the ultimate soldier?

Snake has been involved with warfare for the majority of his existence, and even claims himself that the battlefield is the only place he truly feels alive - a nauseating statement if there ever was one.

By the time the fourth game rolls around and Snake has aged prematurely due to the cloning process, a stress gameplay mechanic is introduced in which players need to manage Snake's composure, which really says it all.

It's basically impossible to tally up all the possible psychological maladies Snake could be suffering from, but before he takes his eternal rest, it'd probably do him some good to speak to someone about the trauma minefield that is his life.
