8 Video Game Characters Who Desperately Need Therapy

3. Leon S. Kennedy - Resident Evil

The Last of Us Part 2 Ellie
Capcom

Resident Evil's Leon S. Kennedy probably had the worst first day on the job in human history when he found himself taking on an undead apocalypse the very day he started working for Raccoon City PD.

And while he seemed well-adjusted enough in the original version of Resident Evil 4, the recent remake showed more care in examining how his experience in Raccoon City changed him.

That is to say, Leon's clearly carrying the weight of those events around with him, particularly with regard to those he wasn't able to save. The youthful spark in his eyes just isn't there anymore, and can anyone possibly blame him for that?

It gets even worse if we turn to the CGI animated movies, where Leon is very clearly shown to use alcohol as a coping mechanism and is basically a functioning alcoholic.

A sure result of the many psychological scars he's incurred throughout his horrifying experiences in the series.
