8 Video Game Crossovers That Made You Say WHAT?!

So I think we're all in agreement that the Metal Gear Solid franchise is, well, more than a little unhinged at times, and yet for everyone speaking volumes about "Princess Beach's" and hour long cutscenes, very few seem to remember the time logic took a spin on a banana peel and that the world was introduced to "Mesal Gear Solid"

This mini-game cropped up in the wonderfully silly Ape Escape 3 title and while you might assume it would be a barebones riff on the MGS series, actually included a full campaign complete with a creative twist on the stealth-action gameplay of the series, and featured the unbelievably cute Pipo Snake as the lead.

Not only was this a joy to play thanks to how refreshing it was but it was also a crossover that was echoed in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with the "Snake Vs Monkey" which sees Snake have his holiday interrupted by the Colonel in order to capture some rogue Apes! Whomever or whatever prompted this crossover, I thank you from the bottom of my simian heart, because these little jovial slices of gameplay were so unexpected and so brilliantly fun, I simply wish there was more of it!
