8 Video Game Enemies You Never Got To Fight!

1. Victor Zaitsev - Vanquish

Illusive Man Mass Effect 2
SEGA

While a lot of other entries on this list have dealt with villains and enemies who were dispatched in either hilariously underwhelming means or through cutscenes taking control of the action, Victor Zaitsev somehow manages to be an even more anti-climactic example because not only do you not get to smash this smug face in, but he actually exits the narrative of Slide'N'Shoot masterpiece Vanquish as the quite literal Victor of your feud!

To better explain, as Sam Gideon you've had one hell of a day; you've boarded a space station which has been turned into an orbital laser weapon, been betrayed by your own forces and just found out that this coup on the station wasn't actually done by the Russians as prior believed, but was orchestrated by your own government as a means to start a resource war. Cool. Reeeeeaally looking forward to that awkward chat when we get home right?

Still, at least we can smash Victor's skull in for a bit of petty vengeance, right? WRONG! For you see, neither of the two battlesuits you face at the end of the game contain the rascally Russian and he's actually been on his ship heading back to Earth the entire time! All you get to battle is what amounts to two tin cans of his farts with little pixellated JPEGS of him giving you the finger on the inside.

It's a great fight, don't get me wrong but man did it smack of a hollow victory at the end of things. Curse you, Victor!
