8 Video Game Franchises That Will Never Have Satisfying Endings
What even IS the overarching story of Assassin's Creed?
Everyone knows that writing a satisfying ending to any story is by far the hardest part. Video games are no different, with serialised franchises suffering the most from poor endings. Unless developers are very careful with every single instalment to their series, it can often feel clunky whenever they try to wrap it up in any meaningful way.
Ending a franchise in a satisfying way isn't unheard of, though. Look at The Witcher and how the Blood and Wine DLC handled the end of Geralt's story in a simply perfect way. Or even Uncharted 4, which managed to bring Nathan Drake's story full circle, ending with remarkable skill.

There are a multitude of franchises that simply don't have the ability to pull off the climactic ending necessary to be satisfying. Be it because of unreasonable fan expectations, cut sequels that will never be made, or even unfathomably complicated plot threads that would take a madman to tie together, here are just eight franchises that will never have satisfying endings.
