The first instalment in the Shadow Fight series wasn't exactly a goldmine where story was concerned, being a Facebook-based game played between social media users. The second game builds on this quite significantly, with the player now taking control of Shadow, a man left without a physical body and on a quest to reclaim it.

Shadow Fight 3, meanwhile, returns to the custom player character formula, leaving Shadow to go off on his own path and, yep, become the bad guy. After his attack on a select couple of the game's factions, Shadow is no longer seen as a hero, but rather a power-hungry tyrant with a ludicrous goal of building a new world from the ashes of the old one.

In the climactic end battle, the player fights an incredibly powered-up version of Shadow. Although they come out on top and put an end to him, Shadow's plan still comes to fruition, devouring the world in shadow energy.

He turns evil, and then he goes and wins, too. Is there any greater kick in the nuts?
