8 Video Game Remasters We DEMANDED (Then Instantly Regretted)

7. Grand Theft Auto Trilogy

Gta definitive edition
Rockstar

*Sighs while looking out of a rain-covered window*

"What have you done to my boy?"

Seriously, what can be said about this remaster disaster that hasn't already been yelled about before seeing as this was the talking point around the entire industry when the supposed "definitive" editions of the original GTA trilogy were released in 2021. To call this remaster collection "a bit of a miss" is like saying that trying to slay a T-rex with sarcasm is "a little bit of a challenge" and yet that's entirely what Rockstar did when faced with the mounting vocal backlash in that they simply ate it up and carried on their merry way, not realizing the mass extinction of goodwill they were about to experience.

Endless complaints about textures and bugs pushed this collection into the mainstream and soon the refund requests were pouring in as support for some of the most requested titles for remastering bled out. In every single way, this was the worst way to experience these classics, and yet it was somehow about to get even worse.

Fans soon realized that Rockstar had delisted older versions of these games from digital storefronts, meaning that this new "definitive" edition was now the only way to play the trilogy. Rockstar had somehow mastered alchemy but used this power to turn a diamond into pure s**te which when you consider the legacy of the games in question, took some bloody effort.
