6. Cave Story+ - EVERYTHING Becomes Christmassy
There is honestly so much to love about Cave Story that it's almost criminal. Each and every time I boot this beloved puzzle action platformer I'm rewarded by brilliant art design, deviously tense set-pieces, and of course a tonne of moments where you'll just eek out a victory by the skin of your teeth.
And the gift that keeps on giving goes into overdrive whenever you decide to play on Christmas Day because on the original your character now sports a lovely festive getup!
Things get even better in Cave Story + because it's like someone turned the "Christmas Vibes" dial all the way up to eleven as EVERYTHING gets a reskin. Characters, Levels, Enemies, even bosses get the old slick Saint Nick treatment, and it's so utterly charming that it is impossible not to smile as you slip and slide across all these Christmas covered caverns.
It even changes the missiles so that they have stripes on them, and who doesn't love the idea of sending these enemies to hell via an explosive candy cane?
