8 Video Game Sequels That Changed EVERYTHING
3. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
For a game so focused on vehicles and even including "Nut's & Bolts" in the title, it sure was ironic how this much-awaited sequel offered such a bumpy ride for many, rocking up to the races in a stock car so battered it resembled a scrap yard cube.
It's fair to say that critics and fans were "a little unkind" to Nuts & Bolts but it wasn't without a warrant, seeing as the title pretty much took everything that made the first two games so beloved and tried to buff them out of existence.
Hell, they even mocked the collect-a-thon and 3d Platforming elements of the series by blatantly telling us that "nobody even likes these mechanics" in the opening ten minutes.
It was a...bold move to say the least.
What followed was a game that tried to kickstart a brand ride focusing on building vehicles to solve problems and seemingly removing all joy and life from its massive levels. As a result, we got a 20-hour tech demo that tried so hard to be different that it completely detached itself from the series in the worst way possible.
