8 Video Game Sequels That Did Characters Dirty
1. Thane Krios - Mass Effect 3
The cast of Mass Effect 2 is all but flawless. This is especially so when it comes to the companions Shepard can bring with them along the way. Bar the underwhelming DLC characters, of course. They are kind of just there.
One of the more beloved characters from the second instalment is Thane, a Drell assassin shrouded in mystery at first, but once he opens up his backstory only gets more crushing with each reveal. He was even deemed important enough to go on the box alongside Shepard and Miranda.
Slowly dying of the disease Kepral's Syndrome, he joins the suicide mission and if he makes it out, for the most part, Thane will be relegated to a hospital bed in the third game. Now not every character can get their moment of glory and Thane does get a chance to help Shepard, but the sad part is you can miss this entirely thanks to the cluttered UI of Mass Effect 3.
So more than likely his crushing end won’t even be seen by most. And when James Vega is on the team instead of Thane, it just feels like a missed opportunity.
