8 Video Game Tie-Ins BETTER Than The Original

6. Terminator Salvation (Arcade)

If there's one thing that a Terminator film should never, ever be, it's boring. Yet thanks to the script being written by your toaster and delivered through the lens of the newest upcoming director ChatGBT Beta, Terminator Salvation was a paint-by-numbers affair except all the colors were beige and the lines connecting them were also beige.

So very, very, beige. As was the overtly dull and limp Salvation tie in game for consoles. Yet that wasn't the only machine uprising taking place.

Thankfully though if there's one thing that Salvations Arcade game was not it was boring, as to be honest this arcade shoot 'em 'up barely gives you a single moment's respite as you take on the never-ending Skynet hordes. Taking up the role of John Conner, you're properly shown both the overwhelming odds humanity faces, but also just what a kick-ass hero of mankind that Conner is meant to be. Don't get me wrong it does dampen the fear of the T-800 somewhat when you blast through about twenty of them in as many seconds, but this is a pure cathartic thrill ride.

You'll storm through broken cities, make desperate escapes from gigantic mechanical foes, and of course bob your head to that iconic theme each and every time it arises. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and shares an equally dull color palette to its big screen brother, but it's never dull and that puts it leagues ahead of the film.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
