8 Video Games That Actually Made Us Want To Go Outside
2. Assassin's Creed
Made Us Want To: Climb every building in sight. Assassin's Creed features a major gameplay element that isn't mentioned in the series title. Sure, you run around historical worlds assassinating people (that's a given) but one of the series' major gameplay elements involves the 'sport' of parkour. Throughout the series, your assassination techniques might have changed, but the core ideal of climbing buildings and scaling rooftops never does. It makes it look so EASY. Just about any building can be climbed and your protagonists don't really seem to have superhuman upper body strength. When guards are chasing you, they'll also scale buildings in pursuit of you too. Surely anybody can do it then? Of course they can't. Unless you're Alain Robert (the French Spider-Man, go look him up), climbing buildings is near impossible. In fact, chances are, if you go outside and look at your house, you won't even know where to begin. On the other hand, perhaps you can reach the terrifying heights of your own rooftop (using a ladder is cheating, by the way) and feel pretty pumped up by the experience. In that case, your local skyscraper is the next step (please don't actually try this). Just don't come crying when you get stuck about nine feet off the ground and the fire services have to come get you down.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
