8 Video Games SOLVED By MONEY

5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The Witcher 3 Geralt
Nintendo

The Animal Crossing franchise is a truly fascinating beast - adorable and almost impossibly addictive, yet also inextricably entwined with the damn dirty system of capitalism itself.

To some, the town shop's manager Tom Nook is a sign of everything wrong with the world today, where people are encouraged to enter masses of debt and find themselves perpetually under the thumb of someone much wealthier than themselves.

To others, Nook is a consummate businessman who dares to offer the player an interest-free mortgage - a frankly ridiculous deal any way you slice it.

Either way, the game is designed to keep you jogging along the capitalist treadmill as Mr. Nook offers you more and more things to splash your cash on - a compulsive gameplay loop that's kept many playing each new entry for years.

But of course, with each new Animal Crossing game, players will industriously seek out glitches and exploits which allow them to farm ungodly numbers of bells - the series' currency - and remove themselves from the bootheel of capitalism, if not Tom Nook himself.

Even though Nintendo inevitably patches each discovered exploit, it's only a matter of time before players find another.
