8 Video Games That NEVER Got Their Due
8. Sunset Overdrive
Insomniac's forgotten game that isn't the focus-tested-to-death abomination, Fuse, Sunset Overdrive is a hyper-coloured athletic action platformer that was sadly chained to one of the worst-received consoles in living memory.
Yes, the Xbox One killed or at least drastically minimised the reach of awesome titles like Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break. Microsoft's choice to sell a system based off voice commands and messy DRM made everyone opt for a PS4, and that meant Insomniac's super playable, super enjoyable and experimental Sunset Overdrive was left with empty seats.
Powdery explosions, inventive boss battles, a great character customiser and VERY inventive weapons, Sunset Overdrive is more of the studio's immaculately animated overblown carnage, twinned with a traversal system that lets you bounce off or grind on everything in Sunset City.
Quick side note btw: Insomniac have given us Sunset Overdrive, Ratchet & Clank's soft reboot, 2018's Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spider-Man: Remastered AND Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, all within the last 10 years.
They truly need to be celebrated as one of the best developers in the world right now.
