8 Video Games That Reward You For Breaking Them
1. GoldenEye 007 – 10 Games For The Price Of One
If you poke around in the code of GoldenEye 64 you can actually trigger a fully functional emulator for the ZX Spectrum system, which was originally released in the UK in 1982. And if you think that's interesting, the emulator also comes packed with ten complete, playable games. Talk about value for money!
Amazingly, this wasn't actually discovered for over a decade after the game was released. The emulator was likely an experiment carried out by the game's developers and was never supposed to be accessible, but incredibly, remained a part of the game's code.
That it wasn't broken or buggy is difficult enough to believe in itself, but the fact it comes with ten games makes this the most rewarding reason to break a game yet. Similarly to Ocarina Of Time, you've got to load a ROM of the game in combination with a patch which allows in-game access to the emulator. Do this and you've got yourself a fully functional virtual ZX Spectrum.
