8 Video Games That Turned Out Nothing Like We Were Promised

6. Bioshock Infinite

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_DSfjAdhlU Granted, BioShock Infinite turned out to be pretty great in the end, so don't take its inclusion on this list as an insult to the final product. Still, you might find yourself feeling a little bit disappointed in what gamers were eventually handed by the developers, if you'd glimpsed the footage that debuted at E3 a few years before. The difference between that version of the game - graphically, physically, everythingly - and the final version is insane. In the E3 gameplay demo, it's almost as if we're looking at the best game ever made or something. Don't believe us? Check it out. Which is to say, BioShock Infinite doesn't feel like that footage at all. Sure, the aesthetics match and Booker and Elizabeth are there, but the experience looks so much more developed than it does in the final version - it almost seems next-generation, despite the fact that the footage hails from 2011. The most disappointing thing, really, though, is that the E3 demo has tons more atmosphere - it's dreamy, movie-like. And BioShock Infinite was atmospheric, don't get us wrong - it just didn't all come together in quite the same way it does in that amazing footage.
