8 Video Games With The BEST Game Overs

7. The Sun Explodes - Suspended

As with most Text-based adventure games, Suspended takes absolutely no prisoners when it comes to delivering crushingly brutal moments all because the player didn't input EXACTLY what the game wanted to hear. It might not be up with the mockingly-hard sections showcased in the Hitchhikers Guide text game, in which it was very possible to fail the game without even knowing you'd done so in the opening five minute of the game, but it's still pretty challenging.

Suspended puts you in charge of a machine that controls a heavily populated colony, problem is, is that the machine is broken, infuriating to use, and will sometimes punish you for being even a single percentage out of line. Things are made even harder by the fact that the previous human battery that served as the machines controller is now coming to kill you and is destroying your robot helpers. FUN RIGHT?

Well if this wasn't enough pressure for you, why not try the "IMPOSSIBLE" difficulty setting, which may well provide the best game over ever, as after about 5 cycles the SUN EXPLODES AND KILLS ALL LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE. It's literally impossible! But at least it takes the edge off the crushing difficulty of the main game with a good chuckle.
