8 Video Games You Bought Just For A Mini-game
7. Zombies - Call Of Duty: World At War
In the grand old debate of which is the best Call Of Duty game of all time, I do feel that World At War gets left out of the mix far too often. I know that Modern Warfare 1 and 2 are genuine masterpieces but this game offered so much and seemed to get much less love in return.
From the incredibly visceral and sometimes unsettling main narrative to the always engaging multiplayer, World At War was a blast, but let's face it one mode shone above all others, and that was Zombies.
When you look at how incredibly popular this game mode is now, it's almost bizarre to think that it was thrown in as a last-minute joke by Treyarch after they'd finished work on the main game. With an incredibly simple concept of surviving against waves of the undead, this hooked players immediately, and soon it became a direct challenger for most hours played across ALL of the modes.
The brilliant gameplay loop of harder waves, scarce ammunition, and the ability to use points to buy better equipment made for an experience that would eat hours of your life, and if you weren't careful, your tasty brains as well.
