8 Video Game Easter Eggs That Will Make You Sweat
7. Yoshi On The Roof - Super Mario 64
The Mario franchise is packed with Easter eggs that reference the admirable history and pals of the portly plumber. As a result, it’s probably not a massive spoiler at this point to mention that Mario’s dinosaur BFF and trusty steed Yoshi can be found in the N64 classic, Super Mario 64. A thousand apologies if you weren’t aware of this.

So, how do you find that adorable little dino? Well, Yoshi can be found happily snoozing away on the roof of Peach’s castle. Getting up there to say hello might sound easy enough on paper, but if you want to unlock the cannon that shoots you up to the top of the castle, you’re gonna need to find all 120 stars in the game. Unfortunately, that of course includes all of the stars hidden in that creepy as hell haunted house world.
Luckily, Nintendo offer some reward for this Easter egg. Yoshi gives you 100 lives, a message from Shigeru Miyamoto, and makes your third jump sparkly (presumably, he had his reasons).
