8 Ways PES 2022 Has To Impress To Make It Worth The Wait

4. Licences

Everybody who has ever played Pro Evo knows it can't compete with FIFA in terms of licences and the quirky names have become one of the most recognisable features of the series.

However, licencing is still vital for the franchise. In recent years, Konami have partnered with some of the biggest clubs in Europe including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United. This brings a huge amount to the series even if it is only for a handful of teams.

Despite this improvement, Konami have already taken a hit losing their deals with AC and Inter Milan for the coming year. This may be the backlash for PES having exclusive rights for Juventus this year. This was the first time one of the biggest teams in football was not fully licensed in FIFA.

By the time we get to PES2022 a lot of the main licences may have changed. Konami have a great partnership with Barcelona, but one club is nowhere near enough for a next generation title.
