At the close of 2015, Psyonix offered players a new mode featured in the Snow Day update; seeing the ball replaced by a giant hockey puck. It was a popular alternative to the standard match, with Psyonix listening to fan demand and reinserting it back into the game after it was briefly taken out. With the success of altering the core gameplay formula, this should give Psyonix the confidence to try another game mode for us to play. A basketball version of the game could work, with a giant hoop mounted on either side of the pitch, or even changing the ball in the style of an American football. A new game mode could also involve constant changing pitch dynamics, with obstacles randomly appearing over the pitch to either deter or aid you. I wouldnt expect it to be part of any ranked matches, but having those options there for people to mess around with wont do any harm and Im sure the Rocket League community would appreciate Psyonix trying something different.
