This really a feature that is just dying to happen, especially in future updates or games Psyonix have planned in the future. Currently, stats and ranks are reflective solely on you. It isnt a team competing game - well, apart from the MVP award, anyway. Beyond that, apart from players wanting to win, youre not part of a team unless you all ensure you wear the same flags and decorations. Indeed, a popular feature of FIFA, is Pro Clubs. The prospect of making your own online team with friends would drive the addictiveness rating to a dangerous level. Being able to create your own custom badge, unique team patterns and a club name everyone would play under would give players more of an incentive to work together instead of focusing on their own personal goals. Rocket League already offers a mode in the form of seasons, which enables you to create your own team and compete in a AI-controlled league. If it was brought online, it could consist of a series of divisions, with new teams starting from the bottom and playing teams in that division to gain points and rise up the tables, as well as including a multi-league cup to participate in. Fans of the series would love a game mode like this if its introduced in the near future.
