8 Worst Video Games Of 2020 (So Far)
1. The Outer Worlds (Switch Port)
The Outer Worlds is, rather tragically, just not built to run on a mobile-adjacent processor.
The Switch's Tegra X1 has pulled off some phenomenal things - DOOM 2016 running smoothly, Witcher 3 arriving with all content intact and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus being solid fun are three examples - but all of that is always down to time and talent.
Somewhere along the way, developers Virtuous were clearly struggling getting this over the finish line, but "Whatever money we'll make anyway" was clearly chosen over a much-needed delay.
This just isn't acceptable. The game barely runs.
Frame rates are all over the place, textures either don't load in or stay in their "pending" states for far too long. Clothing detail and graphical clout in general is reduced so much from the PS4 and Xbox One editions, it's just laughable.
Slap on a full £60/$60 price tag, and this is straight-up insulting to those looking to support the otherwise phenomenal Obsidian in everything they do.
