9 100+ Hour Video Games You NEED To Play
3. Xenoblade Chronicles 3
2022 action RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3 sets the perfect scene for players to venture around its stunning open world, delve into its many stories, and meet its colourful characters.
Considered by many to be the pinnacle of JRPGs on the Switch, even those who aren’t a fan of the frequent fanservice will find more than enough things to love in this Monolith Soft epic.
Arriving five years after Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which was also a time sink slash masterpiece totally appropriate for this list, this entry switches things up by letting you use seven party members in battles and allowing you to swap between characters during combat. The game takes place in Aionios, which I’m pronouncing very carefully, which is in the midst of a war. If you’re a Xenoblade veteran the game’s enormously lore rich narrative and dozens of central players won’t come as a surprise, but if you’re new then you’ll probably already expect it’s more than enough to fill out its runtime with plenty of intriguing plot threads, conflicts, and reveals.
The game was praised for its stunning environments, satisfying level of challenge, and the new Master Arts system that elevated the combat encounters and RPG mechanics.
There are so many ways to build and play your party, plenty of things to find, and genuinely interesting side quests that count up into three figures. While you may find some parts start to feel like they’re slipping into filler territory, the vast majority of what the expansive world has to offer is a blast to experience.
