Just Dance 2018 hasn't even been officially unveiled yet, but it's as inevitable as the sun rising at this point, considering that the franchise has released a new game every year since its inception in 2009.

Simply, is there any reason why these annual updates can't just be released as update DLC? Do they really need a full retail release? Are there really that many people buying them?

It's clearly a financial model that's working for Ubisoft, but still, nobody needs these new games every year.

Could It Be Any Good?: The series is easy to mock but, in fairness, it tends to review pretty well, so for the few who religiously buy these games every year, it'll probably deliver the basic goods.
