9 "Leaked" Video Games That WON'T Be At E3 2019
6. Metroid Prime 4
Nintendo have hit the ground running pretty much ever since they unveiled the Switch, releasing one must-play exclusive title after another, and making some genuinely ingenious business moves by partnering with Microsoft. However, they do have one black cloud hanging over them in the form of Metroid Prime 4.
The original announcement pretty much sent every Nintendo fan into meltdown, but development has apparently been tumultuous ever since. Shortly after it was announced, development duties were switched over from Retro Studios to Bandai Namco. After another year in development but no new footage, the game was announced to be skipping E3, although Nintendo did promise that production was well underway.
Then, in January 2019, crisis struck again. The publisher revealed that Metroid Prime 4 had been delayed, and the production had been restarted from scratch, with original devs Retro returning to helm the project for unspecified reasons. That was only a couple of months ago, and it would be a surprise if Nintendo actually had anything to show from the project at this year's E3, and might not have anything to reveal for quite some time yet.
Hopefully third time's the charm.
