9 Amazing Levels Trapped In Terrible Video Games
3. Mega Man X6 - Inami Temple
Much like the Sonic franchise, the Mega Man franchise has had so many entries that it really runs the gamut as far as quality is concerned. 2001’s Mega Man X6 is certainly on the ‘way less good’ end of Mega Man games. Again, it may not be as bad as some of the games on this list but it massively disappointed many fans upon release. There is some suggestion that this is because the game was made without Keiji Inafune’s involvement but it was also criticised for its ill-advised nightmare system, repetitive stages, and bland level design.
Not every level, though, otherwise you wouldn’t be seeing this one on this list. Enter Inami Temple.
This is Rainy Turtloid’s stage where you’ll have to contend with a slew of enemies, acid rain, and a search for a handful of cores. The Japanese temple aesthetic of the level is really cool, the shift to a focus on exploration is refreshing, and there are some delightfully challenging platforming sections.
If every level in the game was as good as this one a bunch of outlets probably wouldn’t have called it disappointing but they aren’t so on the list it goes.
