9 Anticipated Video Games You Won't See Again Until E3 2019

Death Stranding is another game with a Cyperpunk-esque level of hype surrounding it. Developed by acclaimed director Hideo Kojima and starring an all-star cast like Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux and Mads Mikkelsen, people have been picking apart every frame of the game's teasers since the first one was shown at E3 2016.

The game's release date is as shrouded in fog as the world of Death Stranding that we see in the trailers - Kojima as said variously that it'll be out before the date the film Akira was set, which is 2019, but also that it'll be out before the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

If the former is to be believed then it'll come out in 2018 - unlikely, given that the game wasn't shown a huge amount during Sony's conference and that no release date was announced. If it was to be released this year then it's likely a release date would be given, as it was with Spider-Man, a game that had equal billing at the conference.

Since the game actually only went into full development last year, it's highly likely that we're only going to get the game in 2019 - and late 2019, since the other games Sony showed seem to be further along in development than this one.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
