9 Best Nintendo Spin-Off Video Games - Ranked
7. Luigi's Mansion
Luigi often receives the short end of the stick, considering he's called part of the Mario Bros., despite not having a surname. There are those who have an appreciation for the guy in green, or at least Nintendo thinks so, since they launched an entire franchise around Luigi's solo adventures in a haunted mansion.
It's not even Luigi's first solo outing (which was the educational game Mario is Missing) but even in his own games, Luigi still has to search for his brother.
Luigi's Mansion was the surprising launch title for the Nintendo GameCube, but it was a success, positively received by fans and critics alike, despite a short length. It won praise for the thoughtful puzzles, some keen mechanics and being shockingly imaginative.
In a world populated by some video game spin-offs that are less than their predecessors, it's a pleasant surprise that Nintendo thought the other half of the Mario Bros. deserved some time in the limelight.
