Kamiko is an absolute gem. Retailing for only £5, it's core feel is a solid blend of Hyper Light Drifter's art style, Diablo-esque enemy-bashing and 2D Zelda dungeon puzzles.

There are a handful of levels plus a boss each time, taking around 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you figure everything out, but the main point of replayability comes through characters, as there are three, all playing completely differently. A sword-wielder, archer and disc-thrower, your controls are literally sprint, attack, charge attack and basic movement, alongside picking up or activating portions of the environment.

It might sound minimalist to a fault, but that's honestly why it all works so well. There's a confidence in Kamiko rarely seen in many other smaller indie games; one that when you roll together solid combat mechanics, gorgeous visuals, a joyous soundtrack and puzzle elements that are pure, simplistic fun, this really came out of nowhere and left a big impression.
