9 Bizarre Lawsuits Filed Against The Grand Theft Auto Series

5. Daz Dillinger Files A Cease And Desist

Ok, this wasn't actually a lawsuit, but it could have easily turned into one. Upon first glance, it's also not that bizarre, but the implications are truly astounding. After the release of GTA V, Rap artist and producer Daz Dillinger filed a cease-and-desist order against Rockstar for using two of his songs in the game without permission. The songs themselves were "C-Walk" and "Nothin' But The Cavi Hit", which were even released on the Grand Theft Auto official soundtrack without the musician's permission. Apparently, Rockstar had approached Dillinger about his music, but he had considered their offer to be insufficient, and so turned them down. Rockstar used the songs anyway, resulting in Dillinger filling a cease-and-desist order against them, demanding proper compensation for his work. If his demands continue to be ignored, it could potentially mean that Rockstar are forced to recall all copies of the game, which is unfathomable considering how popular the latest instalment in the series has been. The game sold over $1 billion in the first three days alone, so the idea that they could be forced to recall all copies is almost inconceivable.
