9 Cancelled Superhero Video Games That Would've Made Millions

8. Spider-Man Classic (Web Of Shadows 2)

Sometimes you read about a cancelled game and the reaction is "Well, that's a shame, that would've been cool", but sometimes it's a sequel to one of the best superhero games of all time, and knowing the original team will never get to put out another instalment is simply soul-crushing.

Starting out as a sequel Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (quite the underrated gem, if you have the time) Shaba Games were working on Spider-Man Classic, a game that would retain the high-flying combat engine of WoS, but - get this - would let you play as both Spidey and Wolverine. The two of you would most likely switch on the fly like how Web of Shadows' red n' blue/symbiote suit swap was handled, and the story would pit you against Carnage and Mysterio.

Just look at the version of Mysterio Shaba were working up - he looks positively nightmarish, and had they got it out at the time, would've beaten Arkham Knight's rework of Scarecrow to the punch.

Just to drive home that sinking feeling in your gut that little bit more, the developers were massive fans of the comics, and noted the cutscenes would have a "panel by panel" aesthetic to help tie everything together. Right now a sequel to Web of Shadows remains ripe for the potential-tapping, as Shaba Games went bankrupt in 2009.
