9 Celebrity Voice Actors Who Ruined Their Video Games
2. Peter Dinklage - Ghost (Destiny)
It's safe to say that despite the many things Destiny does well, Peter Dinklage's voiceover as your companion Ghost is utterly lifeless, with his overall delivery having stress and intonation in all the wrong places. It's a bit of a strange turn from an actor we know can knock it out of the park based off a certain courtroom speech we all saw him give in the last season of Game of Thrones.
Now, granted Dinklage is supposed to be playing an emotionless A.I. who flies nonchalantly alongside you throughout the game's incredibly short (story-wise anyway) runtime, but being he's created by a random celestial entity and tasked with resurrecting your character for the sake of some alien head-blasting, you'd think Bungie would have told him to at least try and make the whole thing sound exciting.
There's a weird sense of answering your door and being assaulted by some sort of religious pamphlet sales-pitch throughout your interactions with the supposedly knowledgeable character of The Speaker too, and it's an overall tonality that spreads throughout the game, with everyone except you seemingly becoming so accustomed with the happenings of their own universe that they sound completely bored by them.
Destiny continues to divide all who play it, with one of the biggest reasons some are hating being that almost everyone expected more from the Dinklebot than a "Where's my paycheck?" delivery.
