9 Crucial Ways Microsoft Can Save The Xbox One At E3 2017
5. Strengthen The Brand Of Xbox
Thanks to being in the game a lot longer than Microsoft, PlayStation's back catalogue is one you could reel off at a moment's notice. Crash, Spyro, WipeOut - there are a ton of well-known, widely-played masterpieces just waiting to be tapped back into for remasters and revisits.
On the Xbox side of things, Microsoft positioned the system as being more for 'mature' gamers, leaving mascots and character-backed marketing to fall by the wayside. However, that doesn't mean there weren't exclusives.
Jade Empire, The Chronicles of Riddick, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - all of these were very widely played (the latter in particular is often rumoured for a remake), yet we rarely associate them with Xbox. It's time for Microsoft to roll out accompanying animated graphics and PR that reinforces just how much Xbox branding was present as we all collectively grew up.
Sony dove in with both feet, establishing their "For the players" message and releasing multiple adverts championing the original PlayStation's aesthetic, yet Microsoft have never went anywhere near dealing this card. Fable, Gears of War, Crackdown, Forza, then you can add all the games I mentioned before - there really are a lot of games that owe their success to Xbox.
A substantial amount of people have an even greater amount of love for the system's name, we just need to see it represented well.
