7. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Speaking of hype, Hellblade is the next project from Ninja Theory - also known as "That insanely cool studio that did Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. To be bluntly honest, we know very little about Senua's Sacrifice, other than that it looks to be about the affects of failing mental health on Senua herself.

To that end, Ninja Theory have put the time into interviewing a variety of medical specialists to convey what it can be like to undergo a variety of mental ailments as accurately as possible. We know Sony have helped fund some revolutionary facial capture tech too, alongside all the voices in the game being recorded with 360 degree microphones to really let you get inside the mind of Senua herself.

Hellblade is reportedly rather short, but matches Dark Souls-style combat with what look like some harrowing scenes which may or may not all be inside Senua's head. Overall it feels like a truly ambitious project with something to say, put together by a team of creatives at the peak of their abilities.

One to watch for sure.
