9 Failed Features Of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2

1. Head Glitching

Blops 2 Head Glitch

€˜If you can see it, you can shoot it€™ is a phrase which perhaps resonates more with the Call of Duty franchise than with any other first person shooter game in recent memory. The concept that a gun is a weapon wielded in a person€™s hands as opposed to on their head has always been something which the developers of these games have struggled with, and with any luck it will be one of the features that they address with €˜Ghosts€™. It perhaps ties with camping in terms of how frustrating it is to compete against, even more so when both tactics are combined. How do you combat something like that, when a person is entrenched behind cover, with only the very top of their head showing, yet they can still shoot you? The obvious answer is to score an easy headshot on them, but it€™s easier said than done if they€™re waiting for you or have a good field of fire in which to catch you in their sights. There€™s no need for a third person cover system in the same vain as €˜Gears of War€™ (after all, look at how Team Tactical turned out in MW2), but a rethink regarding the way that the reticule is positioned and programmed would be more than enough.

Blops 2 Ghost

So there you have it €“ a brief rundown of some of the more annoying aspects of the Call of Duty franchise, features which €˜Ghosts€™ could do with dropping if Infinity Ward want to keep the series going at its current pace. It€™s unlikely that future titles will deviate too much from the tried and tested formula, especially given the commercial success of the previous games, but if even some of the issues mentioned are addressed it would, in my opinion, make future instalments far more enjoyable to play. Some of you may have alternative choices for what really grinds your gears, and some may disagree with what I€™ve already covered, so if that€™s the case please leave a comment below and give us your thoughts!
