9 Famous Video Game Characters You Didn't Know Were Gay

4. Vincente De Santa (Red Dead Redemption)

When people talk about Red Dead Redemption's ruthless Mexican army captain De Santa, they instantly make connections between him and Al Pacino's depiction of Scarface. While he certainly echoes the legendary character in his appearance and tyrannical ways, there are also plenty of allusions to his sexual preferences that you may have missed. Wandering the bars of the old west, you'll often hear jocular hearsay about the bartenders and boys De Santa's bedded, and Marston gets a pretty clear jealous glare from the waiter when he meets De Santa for a drink. Despite the (probably) high levels of homophobia that pervaded the old west, De Santa seems pretty comfortable with his sexuality himself, taunting Marston by saying things along the lines of not 'you haven't experienced real pleasure until you've been with a man'. Yep, De Santa was a gay rights pioneer well ahead of his time, though sadly too much of a psychopath to exactly become a poster boy for the movement.
