1. Timesplitters 2 (Inside Homefront: The Revolution)

This is hands-down the coolest unlockable in modern gaming history. Maybe it's because we're completely starved of new Timesplitters anything, or maybe it's because the reality of Free Radical putting Timesplitters 2 levels inside Homefront: The Revolution is just the best idea ever.

Either way, what started as Homefront letting you play the iconic Dam level, wonderfully turned into one of Homefront's developers, Matt Philips, revealing in April 2021 that the full game of Timesplitters 2 was sitting inside that arcade cabinet, it was just locked behind a code.

He promptly said the code had been "lost to time", only for Microsoft software engineer Spencer Perrault to provide the solution. Now, available to everyone - and a damn fine reason to seek out an otherwise forgotten FPS - are the codes to play all of Timesplitters 2, inside Homefront: The Revolution.

Word is that online multiplayer could be made to work with enough tinkering too... but that's a story for another day.
