9 Lego Games We're Still Waiting For
4. Lego Rock Band 2
It's a sad, hard truth for some that the music game has become all but extinct these days. Harmonix, the company behind Rock Band, continues to release weekly DLC for their game, but they stand more or less alone in the field that once was so overcrowded. Given these circumstances, it may be hard to justify a full retail release of another Lego Rock Band game, but perhaps the companies could get back together for a smaller downloadable release. This game could feature a smaller setlist of perhaps 25 to 30 songs and be fully functional as a stand-alone title, but also integrate its soundtrack into your music library if you still own Rock Band or any of its sequels. This approach to spin-off titles recently found some fair success with Harmonix's own Rock Band Blitz, a small self-contained music game that featured game-play resembling the company's earliest, more arcade-y releases but also allowed the entire setlist to be played in Rock Band proper. A low-priced, downloadable game in this fashion may be just the thing to encourage some people to take their plastic instruments out of storage and rock out again.
