6. That 'Bethesda Jank' (The Same Old Bugs & Glitches)
Where do you stand on video games having glitches the team clearly knew about before shipping? In the past - and particularly as we were still reeling from the size and scope of Skyrim - such things were swept away as "Well, no one else is doing games like this, so that's the cost of a project this big". But now? The Witcher 3 is certainly a tremendously large achievement in both world geometry and interwoven plot threads you can pull and weave to your heart's content, whereas Metal Gear Solid V is a veritable sandbox of combat tactics, giving you hundreds of hours of gameplay and granting every experimental wish you may have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrTiMvoHpnQ At some point, when do we say enough's enough for Bethesda's part, and demand a game that runs more like Arkham Knight, or MGS V? It's not like they don't have the time or money to devote to QA testing over building bigger worlds, and they didn't have to continue using the same game engine initially built for Skyrim either. Obviously the realities of game design are something only a handful of players can speak to, but at the end of the day some players are reporting simply getting stuck in places and having to start over, missing quest prompts or not having characters load in, and that's a very severe issue.
